Residential PV(Photovoltaic) Solutions can either be Off-Grid,Grid-Tied or Grid-Interactive type systems. Grid-Tied systems can be setup supply the day-time load dirrectly, reverse the grid-meter or alternatively supply a battery bank(Grid-Interactive) to supply power when the grid is down(i.e loadshedding) and it can be setup to supply power during the evenings. Residential PV solutions are not connected to the grid nor are they required to be.

Industrial / Commercial Solutions
Commercial or Industrial PV (Photovoltaic) Solutions range from large to medium (based on requirements) Grid-Tied systems. Rather than fully rely on the grid these systems generate electrical load directly from the sun to supply the building they are situated on. The grid is only used for supplementary power or when there is no solar supply available.
